The students at La Salle Prep in Milwaukie raise money each year for peers at the De La Salle Blackfeet School on the Blackfeet Reservation in Browning, Mont. The De La Salle Blackfeet School serves a community plagued by poverty, unemployment and education shortfall. Officials at the Montana school depend on La Salle’s assistance to provide a Catholic education to the children in grades four to eight. Last month, La Salle Prep hosted a talent show, with the audience voting for favored acts by slipping money into piggy banks. Teachers and students showed off their talent in the theater, with a panel of three La Salle faculty members providing commentary. |
